HYDRAA fences 6.12 acres of govt land in Kachavani Singaram to prevent encroachment
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has fenced 6.12 acres of government land in Kachavani Singaram village of Ghatkesar mandal, Medchal–Malkajgiri district.
The operation follows complaints that the land was illegally converted into residential plots and sold without authorization.
Repeat encroachment at Divya Nagar layout
Notably, the same location had witnessed HYDRAA action exactly a year ago, when unauthorised boundary walls were removed at the Divya Nagar layout.
On both occasions, the encroachments were allegedly linked to educationist Nallamalla Reddy, making it a case of repeated violation, officials said.
Illegal layout and sale of plots
According to officials, the government land measuring 6.12 acres is situated in Survey Nos. 66/2, 3, 4, and 5 of Kachavani Singaram village.
The accused allegedly developed an unauthorised layout adjoining the government land and subsequently encroached upon it, converting parts of the public land into plots and selling them.
HYDRAA took the matter seriously after receiving complaints that the land was being unlawfully occupied and alienated.
Field inspection and survey confirmation
Following the complaint, HYDRAA conducted a field-level inspection in coordination with officials from the Revenue and Survey departments.
Based on the survey report submitted by the Assistant Director, Survey and Land Records, the land was conclusively identified as government property.
Fencing and installation of HYDRAA boards
Acting on the survey findings, HYDRAA erected fencing around the entire 6.12 acres to prevent further encroachment. Officials revealed that nearly 50 unauthorised plots laid out by Nallamalla Reddy fall within this fenced government land.
Despite attempts by the encroacher to obstruct the operation, alleging that fencing was done without issuing prior notices, HYDRAA proceeded with the action. Boards declaring the land as government property under HYDRAA protection were also installed at the site.
Government land safeguarded
With this operation, HYDRAA successfully prevented further illegal occupation and protected valuable public land from being misused. Officials reiterated that similar strict action would continue against encroachments on government assets across the Hyderabad region.
