The enforcement teams removed a toddy compound and several shops that were built illegally on a nala and a public road.
The move assumes significance since the HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath along with the officials of various departments visited the locality on Wednesday after receiving complaints from the locals that the road and nala had been encroached upon to build a toddy compound and shops.

Ranganath directed the town planning officials of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and revenue officials to examine the details and related site documents of those who have occupied the road and taken up construction. Locals who had been pushing for the removal of the illegal constructions for a while supported the demolition drive.
After completion of the demolition drive, the enforcement teams made it clear that since the buildings being demolished were solely commercial, no residential homes were impacted. Restoring appropriate access and stormwater flow in the area is anticipated with the cleared space.
