The police inspected a godown located at Venkateshwara Nagar and found a large-scale pickle manufacturing setup operating under extremely unhygienic conditions.

Officials said the accused were using spoiled vegetables and low-grade raw materials to prepare pickles, which were then supplied to local shops at lower prices, posing a serious health risk to consumers.

Large quantity of adulterated stock seized

During the raid, police seized:

72 drums of pickles, including lemon, red chilli, raw tamarind, amla, and sorrel varieties

6 drums of tomato and tamarind paste

N. Naresh (45), a resident of Jiyaguda

Both were allegedly running the illegal unit and distributing the products in nearby areas.

A case has been registered at Kulsumpura Police Station under Sections 318(4), 274, and 275 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said further investigation is underway to identify the distribution network and other possible links.
