Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a surge in thunderstorm activity in Hyderabad.
Issuing a yellow alert, IMD said the activity will start on Wednesday and continue till the end of the month. Ganesh Immersion Day also falls during this period. The festival will be celebrated on September 28.
IMD said there is a likelihood of moderate rain and thunderstorms. This alert is in effect until September 30, with rainfall expected to taper off starting October 1.
Weather Pattern Explanation
The IMD has identified a cyclonic circulation over Telangana in the lower tropospheric levels, which is contributing to the upcoming weather pattern. This circulation is expected to bring fairly widespread rains to Telangana as a whole on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
District-Wise Rainfall Expectations
On Wednesday, moderate rains are anticipated in several districts, including Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Medak, Vikarabad, Siddipet, Yadadri, Wanaparthy, and Jangaon. In other districts, lighter rains are expected.
Preparedness and Safety Measures
Residents and authorities are urged to stay vigilant and prepared for the impending weather conditions. With Ganesh immersion day approaching, it's essential for organizers and participants to take precautions to ensure the safety of all involved. This includes monitoring weather updates, avoiding waterlogged areas, and following any advisories or warnings issued by local authorities.
Stay Informed and Safe
As Hyderabad faces an increased risk of thunderstorms and rainfall in the coming days, residents are encouraged to stay informed through official weather updates and to exercise caution when venturing outdoors. Proper planning and preparedness can help mitigate any adverse impacts of the changing weather conditions.
The IMD will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates as necessary to keep the public informed and safe during this period of increased weather activity.
