Hyderabad: IMD issues yellow, orange alerts; city may experience severe rains

Hyderabad: People woke up to pleasant weather on Thursday.
Indian Meteorological Department- Hyderabad (IMD-H) has issued yellow and orange rain advisories for the city, suggesting severe rainfall.
Temperatures dropped in Hyderabad and several other regions of the state yesterday. Maxmum temperature in the city was recorded at 27.8 degree Celsius.
The meteorological department predicts that the minimum temperature in the city will drop to 21 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature will drop to roughly 28 degrees Celsius in the next week.
The Indian Meteorological Department- Hyderabad (IMD-H) forecasted mild to moderate rain or thundershowers in Hyderabad and several other parts of Telangana for the remainder of the week.
"A rainstorm will be active in Telangana. We can definitely expect good rains, primarily in the north; Central TS will receive heavy rains; and Hyderabad will receive moderate rains with an overcast sky, which will gradually diminish beginning August 20," stated Weatherman Balaji, also known as Telangana Weatherman on Twitter.
Heavy rain is also forecast in isolated areas of Telangana's Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, and Wanaparthi districts.
IMD issued a yellow alert and warned of heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in districts including Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Janagaon in the next 48 hours.
Residents of Hyderabad are encouraged to take appropriate measures and plan their journey accordingly in light of the IMD Hyderabad prediction.
