Hyderabad international airport launches water-less car washing facility to sanitize cars
To ensure the safety of passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hyderabad international airport has introduced another initiative - a water-less eco washing facility to sanitize cars.

The facility includes exterior cleaning, vacuum cleaning, tyre clean and polish, air freshener, dashboard dressing, and deep clean services. This helps in the complete sanitization of the vehicles and ensures safe travel. Special 3M products that are used widely in the automobile industry and pose no kind of issues to the paint durability of the vehicle are used in the cleaning and washing. The cleaners have been trained to clean the vehicle in a unidirectional way so that the chances of leaving swirl marks on the vehicle are reduced.
One water-less eco washing kiosk is located at the entrance of the car parking zone - C and one kiosk has been dedicated to taxis near the airport lodge at the taxi staging area. Irrespective of the location, service will be provided where the vehicle is parked within the airport car park. The service is 24/7, 100 per cent contactless, and tech-enabled for the ease of the customers. Both cash and digital payments can be made.
Since the recommencement of operations on 25 May, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has been constantly engaging with all stakeholders to strengthen safety and sanitation measures for passengers at the airport. All authorized airport taxi services like Meru, Skycab, Ola, Uber, One Car, and Srinivasa Tours and Travels have been sensitized about the COVID-19 norms and provided adequate information and instructions to be followed while ferrying passengers.
The safety measures at the airport begin from the parking zone of the airport, where besides social distancing markings, digital payment options, and other contactless measures, the airport has also come up with a robust mechanism to provide a sanitized taxi experience for every passenger using the airport-authorized taxi service.
Every driver of the authorized taxi entering the airport is thermally screened and only those drivers with a normal body temperature are allowed to perform duties at the airport. Once the driver is cleared to drive, the taxi is sanitized.
