Hyderabad: A man and his daughter were severely injured by a Chinese manjha here. The manjha was stuck on an electric pole on the Nagole flyover. Vinay Kumar, who was on his bike with his five-and-a-half-year-old daughter Keerthi, did not see the string. It first struck Keerthi and then Vinay. Keerthi got deep injuries on her throat while her father was injured on his nose.

Keerthi was taken to Rainbow Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Vinay is a resident of Vanstalipuram in Kamala Nagar. He and Keerthi were on their way to Uppal metro station to pick up his wife Snehalatha, who works in a bank, when the accident occurred.

Keerthi is in ICU but is said to be out of danger. Doctors will perform her surgery tomorrow (16 January). A case has been registered in the Chaitanyapuri police station and it is being investigated, said Chaitanyapuri inspector S. Madhusudhan.
