Hyderabad: A 23-year-old youth lost his life after falling from the third floor of a hotel while trying to escape a dog attack.
Identified as Uday, he was a native of Tenali and residing at Ashok Nagar in Ramachandrapuram.
The incident occurred on Sunday night when Uday went to the VV Pride Hotel in Chandanagar with friends.
According to reports, he went to the balcony on the third floor and chased the dog initially and then the dog suddenly chased him. In a desperate attempt to evade the dog, Uday fell from the hotel window, resulting in fatal injuries.
The entire incident was captured on the hotel's CCTV cameras. However, hotel staff reportedly concealed the incident from the public, delaying its disclosure.
The matter only came to light later. Police have registered a case and started an investigation into the circumstances that led to the death of a young man.
