Hyderabad: Man who waved Godse's photo in Ram Navami rally arrested
The accused Hema Kumar is an active BJP member from Gachibowli area
By Newsmeter Network Published on 13 April 2023 7:47 AM GMTHyderabad: The Shahinayathgunj Police arrested a person who waved the picture of Nathuram Godse, during the Sri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra (rally) in Hyderabad on March 30.
The accused is Chinta Hema Kumar (21), an ITI Technician is a native of Bandaru Lanka, Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh State, and a resident of Siddiqnagar in Gachibowli.
Hema Kumar is an active BJP member from Gachibowli area.
According to Shainayatgunj police, on March 30, the accused waved picture of Nathuram Godse, and danced during Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in Hyderabad, went viral on social media platforms. The Sri Ramnavami Shoba Yatra procession was conducted by MLA Goshamahal Constituency T. Raja Singh.
On January 30, 1948, Mahatma Gandhi who was walking towards the prayer mandap at Birla House in Delhi, was shot by Nathuram Godse. He came before him in public, and pulled out a pistol from his pocket
"The arrested was carrying Nathuram Godse's picture during Sri Ram Navami rally on march 30. He held the photograph during the procession, which went viral and drew criticism on social media," said the police.
Police booked a case under 504 of IPC and arrested him. He will be produced before magistrate and sent to remand.
