Hyderabad: Missing 10-year-old boy found dead in drain at Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: A 10-year-old boy was found dead under suspicious circumstances at an abandoned GHMC park in Jubilee Hills.

Identified as Karthik alias Pandu, he was living with his family in Durgabhavaninagar. His father, Mudavat Ramesh, works as an auto-rickshaw driver, while his mother, Kavitha, is a homemaker.

Karthik had gone out to a nearby grocery store around 8:30 pm to buy a bandaid but did not return home. Concerned, his parents searched for him. When they couldn't locate him, they lodged a complaint with the Jubilee Hills police around 11 pm.

Police, under the direction of Sub-inspector Ramunaidu, launched a search operation in the surrounding areas throughout the night.

Around 6 am on Wednesday, the boy was discovered near an abandoned GHMC park close to senior politician Guduru Narayan Reddy's residence. He was found in a drainage ditch. The 108 ambulance immediately rushed to the scene. Doctors after examining him declared him dead,

Upon examination, the police found an injury on the boy's head, leading to suspicions that he may have been injured during a fall or he may have been hit.

Karthik was a third-standard student at Jawahar Nagar Government School. Police have registered a case of suspicious death based on a complaint filed by his mother. Further investigation is on.
