On credible information, the sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, North Zone along with Afzalgunj Police apprehended the most wanted inter-state drug peddler Vanapalli Naga Sai when he was waiting to deliver Ganja to drug trader in Hyderabad. The 24-year-old was waiting near Central Bus station, Auto Parking Point when sleuths swooped down on him.
A native of Narsipatnam in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh, he has been running a Catering business. To gain easy money illegally, he came into contact with local Ganja suppliers, cannabis cultivators in Visakhapatnam rural area.
He used to purchase Ganja for Rs 1500 per kg from cultivators and local agents and sell it at Rs 5,000 to 10,000 or depending on customer's demand. During the investigation, it was noticed that he has close contacts with Ganja traders in Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and other states.
The accused along with seized material was being handed over to SHO, Afzalgunj Police Station for further investigation. A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him.
