Hyderabad: On run for four months, ex-Bodhan BRS MLA‘s son Raheel arrested for rash driving, impersonation
On December 23, 2023, Raheel driving a speedy BMW car bearing hit the Traffic barricade opposite the CM camp office.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 8 April 2024 10:30 AM ISTHyderabad: Police have arrested Raheel alias Sahel, the son of ex-Bodhan MLA Shakeel Aamir at Shamshabad airport on Sunday late night.
He was produced before the Magistrate on Monday morning and sent to remand.
Raheel was on a run after he rammed his BMW into a road divider outside the Praja Bhavan in December 2023. He is currently facing charges of rash driving and impersonation.
A lookout notice was issued against him after he flew to Dubai.
On December 23, a speedy BMW car bearing No-TS 13 ET 0777 hit the Traffic barricade opposite the CM camp office. The barricade was completely damaged in the incident.
In this case, the car driver Abdul Asif from Maharastra was made the accused and issued notice. The driver even came forward to accept the offence.
During the investigation, cops recorded the detailed statement of the driver and all their mutual friends. While the investigation was in progress, Abdul Asif failed to submit a reply to the notice under section 41(A) Cr.PC and went absconding. On reliable information, he was apprehended and brought to the police station.
Former MLA has seven to ten cars. Before the accident, Shakeel's family went to Dubai. Only his son Raheel Amir was present in his house.
What happened?
Former Bodhan MLA’s son was driving the BMW car in a drunken condition. He called his driver and informed him that he crashed the car into a traffic barricade. The intensity of the crash was so high that the barricades were blown into the air.
The ex-MLA's son asked the driver to take another car and reach the spot. The accused was whisked away from the spot as if he wasn’t present at the time of the accident. They told the driver not to disclose that former MLA’s son was driving the car at the time of the accident.
Acting on the direction, the driver surrendered and told the police that he was driving the car at the time of the accident.
Cops suspended:
In this case, Panjagutta inspector B.Durga Rao has been suspended for falsely implicating the driver of former Bodhan MLA Shakeel instead of his son.
