Hyderabad: Panjagutta Meridian Hotel employee injured after billboard collapses on him

The incident occurred when he was heading home after completing his shift.
Surajkumar, an employee at Panjagutta Meridian Hotel, was making his way home from Panjagutta Nagarjuna Circle around 9 pm on Monday when the billboard of a newly constructed building collapsed. The billboard, which was associated with the ongoing construction of the Times Square building, struck Surajkumar, causing serious injuries to him.
Surajkumar was immediately shifted to the nearby NIMS Hospital for treatment.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. The collapse of the billboard has raised concerns regarding the safety measures implemented at construction sites across the area.
GHMC also lodged a complaint
In another complaint, GHMC Assistant executive engineer, Advertisement wing,
Abhilash stated that the name board pertaining to M/s MPM times square mall has broken at 9:30 pm due to winds/other reasons and fell on the road and injured two persons.In this connection it was noticed that the developer/owner of the mall has not taken adequate measures to ensure the boards affixed to his building in safe condition thereby endangering the lives of the road users. In this incident bikes of public was damaged.
A compliant has bee lodged against the builder/owner of the premises for endangering the lives of road users/public.
