Hyderabad: The Regional Passport Office, Hyderabad has made the decision to keep all 14 Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) and all five Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) open on Saturday, 20 May, to process passport applications. This is in an effort to shorten the lengthy appointment cycle for submitting passport applications under the Tatkal/normal category.

According to a press release, full appointments will be provided as 70% tatkal and 30% normal. The list of papers accepted for submission for processing applications under the Tatkal category may be found on the Passport Seva Portal, which applicants are urged to consult. Applications in the normal category would be processed using all 14 POPSKs’ full appointment schedules.

The appointments, which will be made public, will be open to both new candidates and those who want to prepone or reschedule.

For this particular Saturday drive, only one preponement or rescheduling will be permitted, thus applicants were asked to make their decision carefully. If they don’t show up after the one chance to alter, they won’t be given another chance to pick a date.

All applicants are encouraged to make use of this service by visiting the www.passportindia.gov.in website or downloading the mPassportseva app, then going to the PSKs or POPSKs where the slots are reserved.

The applicants have also been told that walk-in requests won’t be accepted at PSKs and that appointments are required. All applicants have been advised to adopt this particular step instead of going to intermediaries, touts, or brokers for their passports and necessities linked to passports.
