The complaint was lodged by Munagapati Sudharshan Kumar, a resident of Vijaya Nagar Colony in Kukatpally.
According to Kukatpally police, 52-year-old businessman Sudharshan Kumar alleged that his friends M.V. Raju from S.R. Nagar and A.V.K Vishwanath Raju from Sanath Nagar approached him with an investment opportunity in Rajeshwara Constructions. They purportedly promised Sudharshan Kumar a 10% profit on his investment. Believing their assurances, Sudharshan Kumar invested Rs 60 lakh in the venture.
In 2019, Sudharshan Kumar allegedly received a flat in Vijaya Grandeur Apartment, located in Czek Colony, as part of the investment deal. The registration and sale deed for the flat were reportedly executed in the name of Sudharshan Kumar's daughter. Subsequently, Sudharshan Kumar and his family moved into the apartment.
However, two months ago, Sudharshan Kumar claimed that Raju demanded an additional Rs five lakh from him. When Sudharshan Kumar proposed resolving the matter through mutual discussion, Raju reportedly refused. Instead, officers from the Task Force allegedly took Sudharshan Kumar into custody and detained him in Secunderabad for two days.
Sudharshan Kumar alleged that he was assaulted with rubber pads by the police personnel, including ex-DCP Radhakishan Rao, who purportedly used abusive language and threatened him to vacate the flat; He also warned him of dire consequences if he did not comply.
Fearing for his safety, Sudharshan Kumar decided to cancel the registration sale deed for the flat.
Sudharshan Kumar has now requested legal action against the individuals involved in the alleged assault and extortion.
