Hyderabad police arrest Muslim man for hurtful comments against Hindu deities
Hyderabad: The Narayanguda police have arrested a Muslim man for allegedly making objectionable remarks against Hindu gods and idol worship.
According to the police, the accused entered a shop in Narayanguda and made derogatory comments, saying that Hindus worship stones. His remarks sparked outrage among locals, who immediately alerted the police.
Acting swiftly, Narayanguda police took the man into custody. A case has been registered against him for hurting religious sentiments.
Reacting to the incident, Goshamahal BJP MLA T Raja Singh said that Muslim man made objectionable remarks against Hindu gods and idol worship while he was engaged in an argument with a Hindu shopkeeper.
Taking a serious note of the matter, the video was shared to Hyderabad City Police Commissioner CV Anand who responded swiftly and arrested the persons besides filing an FIR. He appreciated the prompt action of the police. āI thank the police for their swift response in protecting the religious sentiments of Hindus,ā he said.
āI am appealing to the police to ensure a strict action against those making objectionable remarks on Hindu gods and book them under relevant IPC sections to instill a fear among them and prevent reoccurrence of such incidents in future. Be it any religion, the police should initiate stern action on those who hurt the sentiments of other religions,ā Raja Singh said.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police have also urged the public to maintain peace and avoid sharing provocative content related to the incident on social media.
