Identified as Venkateshwar Reddy, he had put up a signboard of Dr. Venkat outside his clinic. He had mentioned a registration number though he had no medical degree.
A case was registered after authorities inspected his premises and uncovered various violations related to the sale of allopathic drugs and his misrepresentation as a medical practitioner.
During the inspection, it was discovered that Reddy had stocked 44 varieties of allopathic drugs for sale without possessing a valid drug license, a violation of Section 18(C) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940. Upon questioning, Reddy admitted to lacking the necessary license.
Furthermore, authorities questioned Reddy about his qualifications after observing signage at the entrance of his premises identifying him as "Dr. Venkat" with a registration number.
Reddy confessed to not holding an MBBS degree and stated that the registration belonged to a friend. This revelation indicated that Reddy had been falsely representing himself as a medical doctor.
Additionally, it was revealed that Reddy had prepared two fake stamp pads and a prescription letter pad, further implicating him in fraudulent activities.
Authorities have seized the 44 types of allopathic drugs and documented them in Form 16 under the Panchanama.
Officials are now tasked with taking necessary legal actions against Venkateshwar Reddy under the law.
