Inspector T. Narsimha Raju of Banjara Hills Traffic Police Station has filed a complaint against advocate Sanjay, a resident of Seetapalmandi, Secunderabad.
The incident occurred when officers stopped a Kia Seltos car near K.B.R. Park. Driver Sakshi Chadda was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
After administering a breathalyzer test, the officers discovered that Sakshi Chadda's alcohol level was well above the legal limit, measuring at 136.
Inspector Raju followed standard procedure and initiated a Drunken Driving case against Chadda, issuing a challan and impounding her vehicle. Chadda was instructed to arrange for a sober driver or collect her car from the police station the next morning.
However, the situation escalated when Chadda contacted her advocate Sanjay who arrived at the scene around. Sanjay, allegedly attempting to exploit legal technicalities, engaged in a heated argument with Inspector Raju and his staff. He cited court judgments and demanded the immediate release of Chadda's vehicle.
Amidst the commotion, Sanjay and Chadda managed to hire a private car driver. To maintain order, Inspector Raju released the impounded car.
Following this encounter, Sanjay began a campaign of harassment and intimidation. He bombarded Inspector Raju and the Traffic ACP with a series of text and voice messages containing vulgar language and threats. These messages not only damaged the reputation of the police officers but also undermined the dignity of public servants.
Determined to hold Sanjay accountable, Inspector Raju traced Sanjay's phone number to a residential address in Seetapalmandi. Based on the findings, a complaint was filed against Sanjay at the Banjara Hills police station by Traffic Inspector Narsimha Raju on Friday.
Inspector Raju has submitted the incriminating voice and text messages as crucial evidence, shedding light on the advocate's misconduct.
A case has been registered under sections 186, 189, 504, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
