Police registered First Information Reports (FIRs) against the individuals involved. The accused have been booked for dealing in counterfeit goods and misleading consumers.
The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to curb the circulation of fake industrial products in the city and protect consumers from substandard materials.
Action following customer complaints
According to police, SKF initiated an internal investigation after receiving complaints about questionable product quality in the Hyderabad region. The probe led to the identification of suspected outlets, following which the company approached the police.
Officials said further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain of the counterfeit bearings and identify other possible distributors in the region.
Police have urged traders and consumers to remain vigilant and report any suspected counterfeit products to authorities.
