Hyderabad police busted filmy style hawala network, seized Rs 2.49 Cr unaccounted cash at Jubliee Hills
In this case, two more persons, Lalith and Pola Satyanarayana are still at large.
By Newsmeter Network Published on 10 Oct 2022 5:49 AM GMTHyderabad: Police have arrested three men and recovered Rs 2.49 crore unaccounted cash from their possession near Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. Police said on October 8, acting on credible information, Commissioner's Task, West Zone, along with Jubilee Hills Police intercepted a two-wheeler near Bharatiya Vidhya Bhavan, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
During the search, police recovered a huge travelers bag containing Rs. 2,49,79,000 from two riders. During questioning, they disclosed that they were for Lalith of Kosalwadi, Begum Bazar, Hyderabad who is a Hawala operator.
The duo said as per Lalith's instruction, they came to Jubilee Hills and received a cash bag from Botchu Ramu. Police later took Botchu Ramu in custody. During questioning, he disclosed that as per the instructions of his colleague Pola Satyanarayana (who is now in Delhi) received the cash from an unknown person at Road No. 75, Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills by showing one Rs. 10 note bearing the number 49B 847015.
On the instructions of Pola Satyanarayana, he delivered the cash to Sudhir Kumar Ishwarlal Patel and Ashok Singh. Since the respondents failed to give a proper money trail, Jubilee Hills Police seized the cash and took three persons into custody. A case was registered. Later the three persons were let off by issuing a notice under section 41 (A) of Cr.P.C.
In this case, two more persons, Lalith and Pola Satyanarayana are still at large.
Police said they have seized Rs.10 note bearing number 49B 847015 used for this Hawla transaction authentication note, Rs. 2,49,79,000 in the denomination of (2000 X 1500, 500 X 43958), two cell phones, and One bike Suzuki Access Reg No. AP 09 BS 9822.
Hawala money siezed in Chandryangutta
In a separate case, Chandrayangutta police arrested four people including two from Uttar Pradesh. The police seized Rs 79.25 lakh cash and two cars from their possession. The accused were exchanging bags containing the cash when a police patrol caught them red-handed on the Mahaubnagar junction on the night of 8 October.
The arrested were scrap dealers Salman Mallik and his uncle Imran Mallik, natives of UP, who are residing in Attapur and Thamma Venkateswar Reddy of NBT Nagar and E. Shekar, a resident of L B Nagar.
Police said that Jayapal Reddy, manager of Sushi Inframine, had instructed his employees Venkateswar Reddy and Shekar to collect the hawala amount from the Maliks. Police said Salman Mallik runs HB Enterprises, a scrap unit, in Aramghar along with his uncle Imran Mallik and they were involved in hawala. Police are searching for Jaipal Reddy, manager of Sushi Inframine.
