Interstate burglary gang nabbed at Nampally Station within 24 hrs of robbery; Rs 3 crore recovered
Hyderabad: An interstate notorious criminal and his two associates have been arrested and Rs 3 crore worth of stolen valuables have been recovered from them.
The accused are said to be involved in the murder of an elderly woman last year and the robbery of valuables worth Rs 2 crores from a house in Narayanguda on February 10. The prime accused is said to have stolen Rs 1 crore from the murdered woman.
The arrests were made by the Narayanguda Police of East Zone and the East Zone Commissioner Taskforce team investigating the cases.
The offenders committed house burglary on the intervening night of February 10/11 in the limits of Narayanguda and stole diamonds, gold, silver, cash and foreign currency from different countries all worth more than Rs 2 crore.
The accused have been identified as Molhu Mukhiya (35), Susheel Mukhiya (29) and Basanthi Arhi (40). The first two are natives of Bihar while Basanthi is from West Bengal.
Modus operandi
The offenders would select houses of rich people, especially of the Marwadi/Jain community and join as maid servants/cooks and security guards. After gaining the confidence of the house owners, they would plan and execute the thefts and would not hesitate the kill the owners if they resisted.
Molhu Mukhiya @ Manoj Mukhiya has been wanted in the murder-for-gain case from last year where he along with Mahesh who worked as a cook in the house of a deceased woman stole property worth Rs 1 crore.
Molhu Mukhiya was also involved in property offences in Delhi and went to jail and has NBWs pending against him.
Case details
On February 12, Abhay Kedia filed a complaint that his master Rohit Kedia and his family members went to Dubai to celebrate the wedding ceremony of his daughter. In his absence, some unknown offenders gained entry into the house and ransacked the almirahs, and lockers and stole diamonds, gold, silver, and cash of Rs 20 lakh in Indian currency and other foreign currency with a total worth of Rs 2 crore.
Special teams were formed for investigation. By viewing the CCTV cameras and by using the latest technology, they apprehended the three offenders near Nampally railway station on Thursday who were about to escape from Hyderabad railway station by train to Delhi as per their plan.
The offenders were thoroughly interrogated and the stolen property worth Rs 3 crore was recovered from them. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
