Hyderabad: Police have arrested a domestic help for stealing gold ornaments and diamond jewelry worth Rs 2 crore from a house in the Minerva Hotel lane, Himayat Nagar.
Identified as Susheel of Bihar, he was working as a domestic help in the house. The incident came to light when house caretaker Abhay Kedia lodged a theft complaint with the Narayanaguda police Station.
In his complaint, Abhay said the house owner is currently staying in Dubai. Upon receiving information about the theft, Narayanaguda police rushed to the spot and examined the house with a clues team and a dog squad.
CCTV footage revealed that Susheel traveled to Nagpur from Nampally Railway station.
A team of police personnel from Narayanaguda, in coordination with Nagpur police, arrested Susheel and brought him to Hyderabad. The stolen gold ornaments and diamond jewelry were recovered from him. However, a statement on the total recovery is yet to be made by the police.
Further investigation is on, the police said.
