Hyderabad: In a major breakthrough, the Hyderabad Police busted a fake educational certificate racket and arrested four individuals allegedly involved in the operation.

The police seized as many as 108 fake certificates from various universities, and four mobile phones used in the operation from the possession of the accused.

The main accused, identified as Mohammed Mujeeb Hussain (54), was said to be operating an educational consultancy and is believed to be the primary provider of fake certificates. He is a resident of Phoolbagh, Chandrayangutta, Hyderabad.

The other accused include Mohammed Nasir Khan alias Nasir (26), an IT employee from Tolichowki, Hyderabad, who obtained fake certificates for employment purposes, Mohd Al Baseer Rahmani alias Sohail (45), a gym trainer from Ushodaya Colony, Gudimalkapur, who acted as a mediator for clients and Zia-Ur-Rahman Siddiqui alias Zia (34), a gym owner from Tolichowki who also served as a mediator.

Fake certificates were used to get MNC jobs and overseas visas

Acting on credible information, the Task Force and Mehdipatnam Police conducted a raid near the Government School at Eidgah Grounds, First Lancer. The accused were caught while delivering fake certificates. During interrogation, it was revealed that Mujeeb Hussain supplied forged educational certificates to individuals aiming to secure jobs in MNCs or apply for overseas visas.

The network functioned through mediators Sohail and Zia, who facilitated deals between Mujeeb and clients like Nasir. Investigations further uncovered that Mujeeb was sourcing the counterfeit documents from three individuals—Manoj Viswash from Kolkata (West Bengal), Ravinder from Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) and Ajay alias Mukesh from UP—all of whom are currently absconding.
