Hyderabad: The city police have taken a number of precautions to ensure that the Milad-Un-Nabi procession goes off without incident.

After the successful completion of the Dussehra festival and immersions, city police commissioner C.V Anand held a meeting with all the important Muslim clerics and senior police officers at his camp office in Purani Haveli and took their opinions on the security, traffic, and other arrangements.

Addressing the community members, Mr. Anand assured them that the city police are making all necessary arrangements and sought their cooperation. He urged the clerics and elders to persuade the youth to travel safely and follow the rules during the processions, and he urged them to maintain communal harmony in order to preserve the historic city's "Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb."

Referring to the infighting among small groups that is causing concern and issues for law and order, the police commissioner advised the attendees to be patient and not react to issues that may impact the city's peace. He also informed them about security measures, traffic diversion plans, and force deployment.

"A traffic diversion plan, parking spaces, and senior officers from the traffic wing will be stationed to closely monitor the processions will be announced today. There should be no deviation from the predetermined route," he said.

In a direct warning to troublemakers, the city police said using social media platforms to incite or hurt the feelings of others will result in severe punishment. If something goes wrong, the organisers will be held accountable, they added.
