Hyderabad-Puducherry direct flights to resume from Jan 2022

Hyderabad: Flights on the Hyderabad-Puducherry route will resume from January 2022.

Thanks to the efforts of Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan, who also holds the charge of Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry,

Earlier, the Governor made special efforts and took up the issue with Union Minister for Civil Aviation. She had requested the ministry to restore direct flight between Hyderabad and Puducherry.

Union government also agreed to extend the support under the Viability Gap Funding to the Spice Jet in resuming flights on the Hyderabad-Puducherry route. She said it will immensely benefit tourists and businessmen who commute between Hyderabad and Puducherry.

Dr. Tamilisai suggested that the Telangana tourism wing can organize spiritual tours to Karaikkal, Velankanni Church, Nagore Durgah, Tirunallar Saneeswar temple. It can also cover Mahabalipuram enroute.

She said visits from Puducherry to Hyderabad and other tourist spots in Telangana can be organized to promote tourism in the state.
