Indian Racing League authorities stated that they are refunding the amount as the final show on Sunday was canceled as one of the cars had gotten damaged.
"The damage to one car made it mandatory for us to check all the other cars. Safety aspect prompted us to cancel the show," said an IRL official.
He added Book My Show has been instructed to refund the amount to all those who booked tickets from their platform.
The tickets for the racing event were sold on Book My Show. There were two kinds of passes. The price for a one-day regular started from Rs. 749. The weekend pass for two days started from Rs.1249.
The much-touted event, which was supposed to be a precursor to the FIA Formula E racing event scheduled to be held in Hyderabad in 2023, was called off abruptly on Sunday due to a car crash. The spectators were disappointed.
"There was an incident during a practice session with one car. As a matter of abundant precaution and advice from the stewards and FMSCI, we have postponed the races," read the official statement from IRL.

On Saturday, a tree branch fell onto a racing car in front of Prasads IMAX and driver lost the control.
The next IRL event is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad on December 10 and 11. The racing event was happening on the 2.7 km long Hyderabad Street Circuit, the only street circuit in the country.
The 2.7km race track passes via NTR marg, IMAX road, and around the secretariat complex and completes the loop at the starting point, with 17 curves on the whole.
Six teams are participating this time- Chennai Turbo Riders, Speed Demons Delhi, Bangalore Speedsters, Hyderabad Blackbirds, GodSpeed Kochi, and Goa Aces.
Two different entities
FIA Formula E team has stated that the races of the Indian Racing League (IRL) are wrongly being interpreted. In a communication, they stated that Formula E and IRL are two different events. The track for racing will be modified further for Formula E which has international specifications. They state that "IRL has nothing to do with FE".
