Hyderabad: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Hyderabad Central Zone, Khairatabad, successfully concluded its special vehicle number auction on Friday, generating a total bid amount of Rs 63,77,361.
Both corporate entities and individual buyers participated actively, securing exclusive and easy-to-remember registration numbers.
Revision of fancy and special vehicle numbers
The auction comes weeks after the Telangana government revised the fares for fancy and special vehicle numbers, a move aimed at standardising the bidding process and boosting revenue from vehicle registrations.

“The auction highlights the sustained demand for special registration numbers in Hyderabad, with both companies and individuals willing to pay premium rates for exclusive, easily recognisable plates,” said Khairatabad Joint Transport Commissioner (JTC) Ramesh Chidura.
