Hyderabad: Secret `Trap House Party’ involving 50 minors busted in Moinabad; 2 test positive for drugs

Hyderabad: Rajendranagar SOT police busted a secret `Trap House Party’ involving nearly 50 minors at Cherry Oaks farmhouse in Moinabad, Ranga Reddy district.

The event was allegedly organised by an 18-year-old student who had recently returned from London. He used Instagram to promote the gathering under the handle ‘Trap House.9mm’.

Farmhouse Party promoted with paid entry

Moinabad inspector G Pavan Kumar Reddy said that the youth had advertised the event at Cherry Oaks farmhouse, announcing that it would run from 2 pm to 10 pm on Saturday. Entry was offered at Rs 1,300 per individual.

The post quickly gained traction among teenagers from various parts of Hyderabad, many of whom purchased passes and arrived at the farmhouse expecting a music-filled celebration.

“Following the post, nearly 62 people registered for the event, including minors,” the Inspector said. The police suspect that most participants learned about the party through social media groups.

Police raid exposes underage drinking

Based on credible information, a police team from Moinabad conducted a late-night raid at the farmhouse. They found liquor bottles and several underage attendees consuming alcohol.

“As liquor was being served to minors and no permissions were obtained for hosting such an event, we immediately stopped the party,” Inspector Reddy said.

“A case has been registered against half a dozen persons including the main organiser, the farmhouse owner, the manager, and the DJ operator.”

Drug use confirmed in organiser’s test

Police sources revealed that the 18-year-old organiser tested positive for drug consumption. “He admitted during questioning that he had used marijuana about a month ago,” an officer said.

However, officials clarified that no foreign liquor or narcotics were found at the venue.

Parents urged to monitor teens’ activities

The Cyberabad police have initiated a detailed probe into the incident, including whether similar events were held earlier at the same farmhouse.

Authorities have urged parents to keep a closer watch on their children’s social media activity, especially on platforms like Instagram where such party invites are circulated.

Police appeal: “Parents must remain alert and educate their children about the legal and safety risks involved in attending unauthorized parties,” officials said, adding that strict action will continue against those who organize or participate in such illegal gatherings.
