Hyderabad: Ghatkesar police have registered a case against a social media influencer for creating a public nuisance and causing disturbances to travelers along the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

He has been identified as Bhanuchander aka Anchor Chandu.

The incident came to light when Bandaru Sriramulu, in charge highway patrolling vehicle, was discharging duties between HMDA Exit No. 7 (Shamirpet) and Exit No. 12 (Bongunoor) on the ORR. Accordingly, he reported the matter to the Ghatkesar police.

Five days ago, Bhanuchander posted a video on Instagram in which he allegedly hid bundles of cash in bushes and ditches along the roadside. He then challenged his followers to locate and retrieve the money, encouraging them to participate in what he termed a `treasure hunt'.

Ghatkesar Inspector Parusharam said the person who posted the video on social media under the name of the `money hunting challenge’ has been identified as Bhanuchander (35) from Balanagar.

In one of the videos filmed near Exit No. 9, Bhanuchander is seen throwing a ₹200 bundle into tree bushes and urging his followers to search for it. This act reportedly caused significant disturbances for travelers on the busy highway, as people stopped to participate in the hunt.

A case was registered on Tuesday under section 292,125 of the BNS (Bharat National Standards Act), and section 8(b) of the National Highways Act (NHA). Police have launched an investigation.
