The ORR, spanning 158 km, is an eight-lane access-controlled freeway with four lanes on each side. Until now, the speed limit for the first two lanes was set at 100 kmph, while the third and fourth lanes had a limit of 80 kmph.
However, in an effort to promote smoother traffic flow and faster commuting, the maximum speed limit for the first two lanes has been increased to 120 kmph.
Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL), a division of HMDA, frequently advises commuters to strictly follow speed limits and maintain proper lane discipline to prevent accidents on the ORR. In case of emergencies, travellers can contact the emergency helpline numbers 1066 and 105910.
