Hyderabad: A meeting on Special Summary Revision (SSR)-2024 for error-free electoral rolls was held with political party representatives at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commission (GHMC) headquarters on Wednesday.

GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose asked political parties to cooperate in the context of efforts to prepare an error-free voter list as part of SSR-2024, for which the Election Commission of India (ECI) has provided flexibility for new voter registration and correction of errors in the voter list from January 1. SSR-2024 is commencing on January 1.

“Those who have completed 18 years of age and whose name has not been on the voter list till now will be newly registered from January 1 through https://ceotelangana.nic.in/ online and offline. An application should be made for voter registration and correction of errors in the voter list. As part of this, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) will conduct pre-revision work from December 20 to January 1 for errors in the voter list and epic card,” he said.

Measures will be taken to ensure that the photo on the Epic card is clear. Supplementary Integrated Draft Roll will be prepared based on January 1, 2024.”

The GHMC commissioner also said that the Integrated Draft Electoral will be published on January 6. Claims and objections will be received from January 6 to January 22 and will be cleared by February 2. The final voter list will be published on February 8.

Further, GHMC commissioner Ronald Ross said that as part of SSR-2024, voters belonging to the same family can apply through Form-8 to stay in the same polling station. As a part of this, EROs are taking steps to prepare a clear voter list by examining the absent, shifted, and duplicate voters. He said that EROs will verify the house numbers based on the voter list, and polling center, and if there are more than six voters in the same family, they will be re-verified.

“As part of the revision of the voter list, voters registered in other polling centers, voters registered in other constituencies, duplicate voters, photo mismatch, and house numbers will be purged. Steps should be taken to set up polling stations by house number,” he said.

He also mentioned the applications received through various forms in 15 constituencies from November 1 to December 11.
