Hyderabad: A 33-year-old businessman cum stand-up comedian was arrested after he crashed his red Porsche into the boundary wall of KBR Park.

He has been identified as Utsav Dixit. The accident, which occurred in the early hours of November 1, caused significant damage to the boundary wall, grills, and pavement near KBR Park in Banjara Hills.

The incident came to light after Dial 100 received a call prompting patrolling police to respond to the scene around 5:45 a.m.

Officers found a red Porsche, with significant front-end damage, resting against the boundary wall of the park. The car had no visible license plate. However, upon inspection, police discovered a broken plate with the registration number TS10FH0900 inside the vehicle.

The driver had already fled the scene by the time police arrived. After an investigation, police traced and apprehended Dixit, who now faces charges under section 110, 281, 184 of Indian Motor Vehicles Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act.

Authorities have seized Dixitā€™s driving license and are in the process of submitting it to the Regional Transport Office (RTO) for disqualification under Section 19 of the Motor Vehicles Act.

According to police, preliminary findings suggest that the accident was caused by reckless driving. Dixit reportedly lost control of the car and dashed into the park premises.

He was sent for a medical examination to assess for alcohol or drug use, if any. Further action will be determined after the results.

Assistant Commissioner of Police, Banjara Hills Division S Venkat Reddy, stated that legal procedures are being followed to address both the property damage and the alleged violations by Dixit.
