Hyderabad: The Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) Hyderabad organized a “Say No to Drugs” campaign on May 6, 2025, as part of the national initiative Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. The event aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug and alcohol abuse and encouraged students to commit to a drug-free lifestyle.

Organized under the guidance of Dr. Rambabu Muppiddi and the Social and Environmental Club, the event brought together students and faculty in a collective effort to address substance abuse. The session was hosted by second-year students Sinchana and Anirudh, who led the proceedings with clarity and enthusiasm.

Address by Dr. N Tej Lohit Reddy, Executive Director of FDDI Hyderabad

A highlight of the event was the motivational address by Dr. N Tej Lohit Reddy, Executive Director of FDDI Hyderabad. During his speech, Dr. Reddy emphasized the damaging impact of substance abuse on individuals and society. He urged students to remain focused on their goals and to envision a life free from addiction.

He stated, “If you can quit it for a day, you can quit it for a lifetime — say no to drugs.” His message resonated with the audience, inspiring students to reflect on the importance of staying committed to a healthy lifestyle.

Active Participation and Community Commitment

The campaign saw active participation from students, who pledged to reject drugs and promote the message within their communities. Members of the Social and Environmental Club played a crucial role in spreading awareness, reinforcing the sense of responsibility among attendees.

The event concluded with students committing to serve as ambassadors for a drug-free India, highlighting the significance of education, awareness, and self-discipline in combating addiction.
