Hyderabad: A 32-year-old filmmaker has filed a police complaint for harassment she endured while running near KBR Park in Banjara Hills.
The distressing incident took place on the morning of July 9.
According to the Banjara Hills police, the filmmaker provided a detailed account of the series of incidents she encountered on July 9 during her morning jog.
The unsettling encounter involved a man driving a black Verna car with the registration number TS 01 ED8989. The accused allegedly directed his phone's camera toward her while simultaneously engaging in explicit and inappropriate behavior.
"As I was running against the traffic outside KBR Park, a man in a black Verna car appeared in front of me three times between 6:30 and 8 am. On each occasion, he aimed his phone at me, recording the act, while simultaneously making obscene gestures with his pants down to his knees. It was an extremely disturbing experience," she said.
Deeply affected by the incident, she reported the matter to the police. A case has been registered on Wednesday under sections 354 (A), 354D, and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). All sections pertain to offenses related to harassment and outraging the modesty of a woman.
