Hyderabad: Two engineering students among 3 killed after car rammed into tanker near Dundigal Exit Number 5
Preliminary investigations revealed that the car was traveling at a speed of 120 km/h at the time of the accident

According to Dundigal Police Inspector Shankaraiah, Akula Akshay, 19, the driver of the car, along with his friends Asmith, 19, Jasvanth, and Navaneeth, were first-year engineering students at Bachupalli VNR Vigyan Jyoti College. They were putting up in the college hostel. On Friday evening, they informed the hostel warden that they were going out for tea.
Akshay's friend Hari Surag, 19, joined them, and the five were traveling in a car on Dundigal Outer Service Road towards Bourampeta.
When they reached Dundigal Exit Number 5, they collided with a chemical tanker from Vargin Acids and Solvents, which was traveling from Bourampeta towards Gandimaisamma.
The collision resulted in the immediate death of Akshay, Asmith, and Hari. Jasvanth and Navaneeth sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a private hospital in Suraram.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the car was traveling at a speed of 120 km/h at the time of the accident. The students were on the Dundigal Outer Service Road for the first time and were unaware of its sharp curves. Akshay's body remained entangled in the car, requiring an hour for recovery.
A case has been registered under Sections 106(1) and 125(a) of the BNS based on a complaint filed by the driver of the chemical tanker, Birju Sahani. The case is currently under investigation.
