Hyderabad: In a major crackdown on unsafe food production, the Commissioner’s Task Force (Golconda Zone) along with Gudimalkapur Police busted an illegal bakery manufacturing unit operating in unhygienic conditions at KD Colony, Hyderabad.
One person was arrested and bakery products and machinery worth ₹12,54,280 were seized.
Accused apprehended
The accused has been identified as Ahmed Raza (46), a resident of KD Colony. Police said he was running the unit without a valid license and manufacturing bakery items under unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
Unhygienic production, public health at risk
According to officials, the accused was preparing a variety of bakery products, including Osmania biscuits, rusk, butter buns, fan biscuits, kaju biscuits, and toast, using low-quality raw materials in an unhygienic environment.
These products were allegedly supplied to local kirana stores, cafés, and hotels, posing a serious risk to public health. Authorities warned that consumption of such contaminated food items could lead to multiple health issues.

Massive seizure of raw materials and equipment
During the raid, police seized large quantities of raw materials and finished products, including:
Maida, sugar, custard powder, refined palm oil, and salt in bulk quantities
Hundreds of boxes of biscuits, rusk, buns, and other bakery items
Bakery machinery such as oven equipment, spiral mixer, sheeter machine, sugar grinding machine, and weighing machine
Nearly 10 tons of wooden sticks used as fuel
The total value of seized property was estimated at ₹12.54 lakh.
Tip-off leads to swift action
Acting on credible information, the Commissioner’s Task Force team and Gudimalkapur Police conducted a surprise raid at the unlicensed unit. Officials confirmed that the operation was being run without adherence to food safety norms.
Case registered
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Sections 318(4), 274, and 275, at Gudimalkapur Police Station.
Officials involved in the operation
The raid was carried out under the supervision of Additional DCP Ande Srinivasa Rao, with operational oversight by Inspector R. Venkatesh (Task Force, Golconda Zone) and Inspector Ch. Ramaiah (Gudimalkapur), along with their respective teams.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to cracking down on illegal food manufacturing units and urged the public to remain vigilant about food safety.
