Hyderabad: 'WE HUB' incubates 3,194 start-ups, engages 5,000 women entrepreneurs

Hyderabad: WE HUB, a state-led incubator for women entrepreneurs in India, celebrated its fifth anniversary on International Women's Day. Telangana's IT Minister, K.T. Rama Rao, and Principal Secretary, Jayesh Ranjan joined in the celebrations. The event was aimed to recognize WE HUB's initiatives and programs that promote the achievements of women entrepreneurs in the economy. Successful women entrepreneurs shared their inspiring stories of overcoming adversity.

KTR endeavored to transform Telangana into a women's entrepreneur hub, He praised WE HUB's contributions to engaging over 35,000 women entrepreneurs across India. He announced the upcoming launch of a single-window mechanism and targeted interventions to help women entrepreneurs obtain a professional identity and expand their businesses, resulting in more employment opportunities in Tier 2 and 3 cities.

Principal Secretary of Information Technology Jayesh Ranjan appreciated the efforts made by WE HUB in promoting women's entrepreneurship. He emphasized the importance of women's involvement in entrepreneurship. "Even if you don't have an idea, please come to WE HUB. Your passion and enthusiasm are the investments," he said.

Later KTR interacted with Lata, an entrepreneur who is stitching uniforms for students in Nizamabad. He highlighted that India's garment production is only 4% and encouraged Lata and other entrepreneurs to start their units to meet the demand for uniforms for government employees and students. He said this would create more employment opportunities in Telangana. "There are ample opportunities in the food processing, dairy farming, agriculture-based industries, and aquaculture sectors," he said

Over the past five years, WE HUB has successfully incubated 3,194 start-ups and SMEs led by women founders, engaging with over 5,000 women entrepreneurs, 1,247 students, 986 social impact entrepreneurs, and 609 urban entrepreneurs. The incubator's efforts are focused on enabling women-led start-ups across industries to grow and expand through access to global markets.

Deepthi Ravula, CEO of WE HUB, emphasized the significance of empowering women entrepreneurs, saying, "At WE HUB, we recognize the strength of women entrepreneurs and are committed to providing them with the necessary resources and support to achieve success, regardless of their background or circumstances."

"Our firsthand experience has shown us the remarkable impact women can have on their communities and the economy. By working together, we can create a more equitable and prosperous future for everyone," she added.

Deepthi also shared that they traveled 84000 km across Telangana and met 35000 women entrepreneurs across the state. KTR said that we live in a women-dominated world and recognized the unique strengths of women entrepreneurs. "Women are organized, focused, and methodical in their approach, and we must leverage their skills and talents to build a better society," KTR said
