Hyderabad: A woman in connivance with her paramour murdered her husband and masked it as a heart attack in Yellareddyguda, Hyderabad.

The incident came to the fore when the accused surrendered to Madhura Nagar police three months later.

According to Madhura Nagar police, Vijaykumar (40), a CCTV camera technician residing at Shikhar Apartments in Jayaprakashnagar, Yellareddyguda, lived with his wife Srilakshmi (33) and their two sons, aged 9 and 8.

Srilakshmi, engaged in an extramarital affair with Rajesh (30) from Borabanda, perceived her husband as an obstacle to their relationship and meticulously planned his murder.

Believing her husband to be a hindrance to her aspirations, Srilakshmi devised a sinister plot. She planned to eliminate her spouse, sell off their properties in Medchal and Yellareddyguda, and live with her boyfriend.

They were residing in an old house owned by Vijaykumar. Claiming that the vastu of the house was unfavorable, Srilakshmi convinced Vijaykumar to move to a rented flat nearby, while she shifted to Shikhar Apartments 5 months before and commenced the conspiracy.

Rajesh, in collaboration with Patolla Rajeshwar Reddy, a rowdy sheeter from Borabanda, and MD Mehtab Ali alias Babban, arranged for the execution of the plan. On the morning of February 1, Vijaykumar left home to drop their two sons at school. In the meantime, Rajesh, Rajeshwar Reddy, and Babban entered the house covertly and hid in the bathroom. Upon Vijaykumar's return, Srilakshmi locked the door from inside and let the three attackers come out of the bathroom. They assaulted Vijaykumar with dumbbells on the head and strangled him to death, dumping his body in the bathroom.

Deceiving everyone with the narrative of a heart attack and a head injury in the bathroom, Srilakshmi arranged for Vijaykumar's cremation, eliminating any suspicion. However, the truth surfaced when Rajeshwar Reddy surrendered to the police on Wednesday night, plagued by guilt over the heinous act. Subsequently, Srilakshmi, Rajesh, and Babban were apprehended based on his confession.

The police have registered a case under Sections 302 and 201 for murder and withholding evidence, respectively. Furthermore, the tragic aftermath leaves the couple's children orphaned, grappling with the consequences of their father's murder and their mother's imprisonment.
