Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) have suspended the head coach of the senior women’s cricket team, Vidyuth Jaisimha, after a video went viral showing the coach allegedly carrying and consuming alcohol in the team bus.

Releasing a public notification after they received an anonymous mail with complaints against him., the association has asked Vidyuth Jaisimha to refrain from cricketing activities until an investigation is carried out.

“This is a matter of serious concern and I have asked for a thorough investigation to be done in this matter and a decision will be made based on the outcome of the investigation. In the interim while the investigation is being carried out, I am directing you (Vidyuth Jaisimha) to refrain from involving yourself in any cricketing activities on behalf of HCA,” said Jagan Mohan Rao, president of Hyderabad Cricket Association.

HCA received complaints from parents

On February 15, the association received an anonymous mail which had complaints against the coach reportedly on his abuse and harassment of women players.

“We, as parents and relatives of women players in the Hyderabad Cricket Association, would like to bring to your notice that Vidyuth Jaisimha is always drunk and is misbehaving with girls. He is drinking so much and his behaviour is so bad and obvious that it is risking our girls’ safety and also the reputation of Hyderabad Cricket Association,” read the email.

It is alleged that the head coach always carries alcohol with him. He threatens others claiming to be friends with Durga Prasad, Nageswara Rao an IPS officer who is also a Ranji cricket player, and says that ‘no one can touch him’ in the cricket association.

“We have brought this to the notice of CEO Sunil Kante, who says he is helpless, as the president and secretary themselves are his friends and is bluntly refusing to take any action against him. In the past Poornima Rao and Vidyuth Jaisimha were instrumental in making the young girls drink and were pressurising the girls to do lesbianism,” the email read.
