Hyderabad:  Xora Pub organizes Wild Night, parades animals; 7 held

Hyderabad: Seven people were arrested for parading wild animals at `Xora Bar and Kitchen' in Hyderabad.

On May 28, the owner of Xora Pub Vinay Reddy, and others organized 'Wild Night' with special DJ Ubba (Mumbai) to attract customers.

Ashish Chowdhury, who saw Instagram stories of Xora Bar and Kitchen, highlighted the issue on Twitter. Tagging Cyberabad commissionerate, he said Xora nightclub in Jubilee Hills Road No. 36 put up exotic wildlife for display on their premises over the weekend.

Hyderabad city police and Aravind Kumar, chief secretary of the municipal administration and urban development department (MAUD) immediately swung into action.

On Tuesday, sleuths of Commissioner's Task Force, West Zone Team, Hyderabad, along with Forest Department officials, raided 'Hyderabad Exotic Pets'.

The teams rescued 14 Persian cats, 3 Bengal Cats, 2 Iguanas (Lizard), Pair Cocktools, Sun Conure (Parrot), and 2 Sugar Gliders.

Some of the accused were identified as Vinay Reddy, owner of Xora Pub; Varahala Naidu, manager of Xora Pub; Tarun, owner of Happywag.pets; Vamshi, the seller of pet animals; Yaser, owner of Hyderabad Exotic Pets in Saidabad and Karthik, owner of a pet shop at Kukatpally.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (OSD) P. Radha Kishan Rao said the prime accused Vinay Reddy, organized 'Wild Night' to attract customers.

The pet owners displayed Bengal Cats, Ball Python, and Iguanas ( Lizard) without any valid permission.

The accused were apprehended and the animals were rescued. The animals were handed over to Forest Department Police for further action.
