Hyderabad: A 27-year-old youth was swept away by floodwaters while returning home on his motorcycle near Balkampet bridge underpass.
Identified as Mohammad Sharafuddin, he hailed from Kavadiguda.
The incident occurred at around 11 pm last night. Due to heavy rainfall, flooding occurred in the area.
Local youth retrieved his body from the water. Sharafuddin worked at a company that manufactures artificial limbs and used to commute daily from Kavadiguda to his workplace in Balanagar.
S.R. Nagar police reached the spot and are investigating the case. A complaint was lodged by his brother, Mohammed Bilal. A case has also been registered.
Two men, Arjun and Ramu, who were swept away in the Afzalsagar nala at Mallepally, Hyderabad, during Sunday night’s heavy rains, remain untraced.
In another incident, a man fell into a nala in Musheerabad and went missing.
Even after three days of intensified search operations, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has been unable to locate the missing persons.
