Hyderabad: Heated arguments were exchanged between HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath and Supreme Court lawyer Mukhim when the agency convened a meeting with the victims of Ilapur plots at Ameenpur Mandal on Friday.

The lawyer questioned Ranganathā€™s visit to Ilapur when the case was pending before the judiciary. He also alleged that the HYDRAA commissioner violated the Supreme Court judgement and entered Ilapur village. In return, Ranganath asked the lawyer to file a contempt of court and asked him to refrain from making unnecessary remarks during the public hearing at Ilapur.

Residents complained of encroachers during Prajavani

Ranganath conducted a ground-level inspection at Ilapur and Chakripuri colonies on Friday following a series of complaints from the public about encroachments at various layouts in Ameenpur municipality during the Prajavani at Buddha Bhavan. He conducted a public hearing at Ilapur, Chakripuri colonies, RTC Colony and Venkataramana Colony on Friday and acknowledged the complaints.

Representatives of Ilapur's Rajagopala Nagar Association complained that their plots had been occupied for 40 years and they had not been able to see them.

Residents of the Ilapur village Layout complained to the HYDRAA commissioner that a person named Mukhim had encroached on the house plots they bought and was selling their plots in the name of someone else. In the 1980s, around 5,000 people from SC, ST, BC and middle class sections purchased the plots in the locality.

Later, the officials stated that it was government land and approached the court. The representatives also said that the final verdict in the court will be issued soon and in the meanwhile Mukhim was selling the encroached plots.

They also alleged that Mukhim, was threatening them and the local authorities are cooperating to him in this regard, despite filing a numerous complaints with them.

After going through the complaints, he assured them that HYDRAA would examine the court orders regarding the layout of Ilapur village and decide the actual beneficiaries.

Similar is the case with the residents of Chakripuri colony and Venkataramana colony. The representatives of Ameenpur complained that Golden Key Ventures had invaded their lay outs, occupied their plots, parks and roads in the colony.

A person named Vijaya Krishnam Raju bought 53 acres here in 2005. Later, the residents of Chakrapuri complained that they occupied more than 18 acres.

Review by Survey of India

Ranganath also said that soon the HYDRAA police station would be inaugurated and stern action would be taken against the encroachers.

A transparent survey would be conducted by the Survey of India (SoI), assistant director, Survey and Land Records and HYDRAA survey team in the presence of all victims without any misconceptions, to determine the boundaries of the layouts, he said, and added that the agency would ensure that the parks and public spaces in the lay-outs are not encroached upon.

ā€œHYDRAA was established by the government with the good intention of protecting the lands meant for government and public purposes. Complaints received against encroachers will be thoroughly examined and action will be taken against them,ā€ the HYDRAA commissioner said.

HYDRAA, Shamshabad municipality staff remove unauthorised hoardings

Enforcement teams of HYDRAA and Shamshabad municipality staff carried out a special drive and removed unauthorised unipole and advertisement hoardings on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru NH road near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad.

ā€œThe agency has already convened a meeting with the municipality officials on the issue of unipoles advertisements and identified unipoles set up without permission. Stern action will be taken against those who put up huge hoardings on both sides of the roads without taking permission,ā€ Ranganath said.

Later, HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath inspected Suroni pond, Kothakunta and Pavani ponds in Tukkuguda of Rangareddy district.
