HYDRAA clears encroachments in Jubilee Enclave, Madhapur; reclaims land worth Rs 400 Cr

Hyderabad: Stepping up its crackdown, HYDRAA on Thursday cleared encroachments in Jubilee Enclave, Madhapur, reclaiming nearly 16,000 sq. yards of land worth Rs 400 crore.

Parks and roads under threat

The Jubilee Enclave layout, approved in 1995 and regularised in 2006, covers 22.20 acres with nearly 100 plots and four parks.

Of these, two parks, measuring 8,500 sq. yards, were encroached, while 5,000 sq. yards of road space was occupied illegally.

HYDRAA also demolished an unauthorised hotel shed built on 300 sq. yards of government land.

Complaint triggers action

Residents of the layout had lodged a complaint through HYDRAA’s Prajavani platform alleging that one Jaihind Reddy had illegally occupied parks and public land gifted to GHMC.

After the field inspection confirmed the allegations, Commissioner AV Ranganath ordered immediate clearance. The demolition drive was carried out under the supervision of ACP Srikant and Inspectors Rajashekar and Balagopal.

Following the operation, fencing was erected around the reclaimed land, and signboards were installed marking it as government property.

Illegal rentals and hoardings

According to complainants, Jaihind Reddy had constructed a hotel without permission on prime government land near the Hitec City–Kondapur road, opposite Metal Charminar.

The premises, along with a hoarding structure, allegedly fetched him nearly Rs 4 lakh per month. GHMC had earlier issued notices over the violations.

Land ownership dispute

Residents questioned how land regularised in 2006 could later be revoked without the knowledge of plot owners. They alleged that several land-grabbing cases were already pending against Jaihind Reddy and demanded accountability.

Residents thank HYDRAA

Expressing relief, residents said the restoration of open spaces in a crowded IT hub had “given them a breath of fresh air.” They thanked Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for establishing HYDRAA and praised Commissioner AV Ranganath and his team for protecting parks, roads, lakes, and nalas from encroachment.
