HYDRAA clears illegal structures near Sandhya Convention; Roads in Gachibowli FCI Layout restored

Hyderabad: In a major enforcement action on Monday, HYDRAA officials demolished several illegal constructions that had encroached upon internal roads and open spaces in the FCI Employees Cooperative Housing Society (FCI Layout) near the Gachibowli main road.

The drive was carried out in accordance with High Court directions following complaints of large-scale violations.

Action based on High Court Orders

The demolitions targeted structures allegedly built by Sandhya Sridhar Rao and others without adhering to the layout’s approved road network. Officials said the encroachments had obstructed 40-ft and 25-ft roads, causing severe inconvenience to residents.

Five-storey building, fod courts removed

A five-storey iron-frame building constructed across a 40-ft road was completely removed, restoring the full width of the stretch.

Two commercial establishments, Mango Food Court and Uno Food Court, were also demolished for blocking another 40-ft road in the layout.

Petrol bunk, vcontainers, Chinese food courts cleared

HYDRAA partially demolished a petrol bunk that had extended into a designated road margin, allowing free movement of vehicles.

At two separate locations, nearly 40 food containers and Chinese food courts erected on 25-ft roads were removed, clearing the access routes.

Hospital ramp and other violations targeted

The enforcement team also dismantled cellar ramps of a hospital building that had illegally intruded onto a 40-ft road.

In total, encroachments at seven sites were cleared, and road boundaries were re-established across the layout.

Residents welcome road restoration

With the demolition drive complete, internal roads have been restored to their original alignment. Plot owners and residents lauded HYDRAA’s action, saying it resolved long-standing access issues that had persisted due to unauthorised constructions.
