HYDRAA commissioner Ranganath warns against building obstructions in public roads, spaces
Hyderabad: HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath has called upon a section of the public not to create obstructions on roads in many residential areas along with layouts.
He also warned that if they are found anywhere, they would be removed immediately by the HYDRAA and assured that the agency will ensure the usage of roads without any hindrance anywhere within the ORR limits.
Use public spaces wisely
Ranganath suggested that places intended for public use, such as parks, schools, libraries, community halls and primary hospitals, should be used for the intended purposes. “If anyone encroaches on places intended for public gatherings, they will immediately remove them and hand them over to the people,” he said.
On Monday, HYDRAA’s Prajavani received as many as 52 complaints from the public, where most of them flagged that walls were being built across roads, disrupting traffic. Many people have complained that even places intended for public gatherings are being made illegal by adding by-numbers.

Public illegally adding by-numbers
The HYDRAA commissioner has directed officials to be strict against those who are encroaching on government and public lands by adding by-numbers from plots to survey numbers in layouts. He also suggested that an immediate investigation be conducted and encroachments on roads and government lands be removed.
On the other hand, many people have also complained to HYDRAA that they are not being allowed to build houses in the middle of their land, even though there are houses around them, and that permits are not being granted in the name of FTL for the lakes. After going through the complaints, Ranganath said that the determination of the FTL of the lakes would also be completed soon.
One of the residents complained to the HYDRAA commissioner that in survey number 345 of Bourampeta village in Dundigal Municipality, Medchal-Malkajgiri district, a former local representative built a guest house on 25 guntas of government land, causing a nuisance to the locals. Another complaint was also filed by the local youth to Prajavani that the same person had encroached on a government plot of 36 holes in Survey No. 14 as well.
Park site encroached in Balanagar
Residents of Balanagar Ferozguda in Medchal-Malkajgiri district have complained to HYDRAA that a park site was encroached in Madhavi Nagar.
They have knocked on the doors of the court to lodge a complaint, but despite clear orders, it has been of no use. They also complained to the authorities that construction was being carried out without implementing the court ruling, but to no avail. The residents appealed to the HYDRAA to acquire 300 yards of land for the construction of a park.
In Devaryamjal in Shamirpet mandal of Medchal-Malkajgiri district, complaints were also made that encroachers were creating obstructions on roads used by people. Locals have complained that a 60-foot road has been built across Rajendranagar Sri Venkateswara Colony in Gandipet mandal of Rangareddy district, and that 23 acres of government land in survey number 20 has also been encroached upon.
Another resident, Koteswar Rao, complained to HYDRAA that he has a house near the Saroornagar lake and that he has not been granted permission to build a house, citing FTL, even though there are houses around his place. He requested that the FTL be confirmed immediately for the lake. The situation is similar in the Pedda Cheruvu in Raviryal.
