Hyderabad: HYDRAA on Saturday brought down an illegally constructed five-storey building in Miyapur.
Officials said the structure was partially built on HMDA-owned government land. The developers had forged regularization papers to carry out illegal construction.
Illegal expansion from Ameenpur into Miyapur
The action followed a detailed probe into encroachments on government land adjoining a private layout in Ameenpur.
Builders belonging to Bhanu Constructions had reportedly purchased Plot No.126 (400 sq. yds) in the approved HUDA layout under Survey Nos. 337 and 338 at Ameenpur.

However, they later extended construction into the neighbouring government land under Survey No.101 of Miyapur, encroaching nearly 473 sq. yds belonging to the HMDA.
Fake plots and forged LRS papers
Officials discovered that the builders had illegally carved out additional plots, numbered 126/C, 126/D, and 126/Part, within the encroached government area.
To legitimize their actions, the accused are said to have created fake Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) documents, including a forged demand draft showing payment towards LRS fees.
Verification revealed that the documents, dating back to 2014, were fabricated.
Complaint from HMDA triggers HYDRAA action.
Following a complaint from HMDA officials about the encroachment, HYDRAA teams conducted a joint field inspection in coordination with revenue, HMDA, and municipal authorities. The inspection confirmed that a portion of the five-storey structure stood within government property limits.
Case Registered; Illegal portion demolished
Based on the findings, officials had earlier registered a case at the Ameenpur Police Station against the builders. On Saturday, HYDRAA officials moved swiftly to raze the illegally built portion measuring about 473 sq. yds, while safeguarding adjoining private property.
Firm stand against land encroachment
Authorities reiterated that all illegal constructions and encroachments on government or HMDA land would face strict and immediate action. HYDRAA officials said they are committed to reclaiming public property and ensuring that land records remain free from manipulation and fraud.
