HYDRAA demolishes partition between two colonies in Gandipet, lays new road to ease travel

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) managed to connect two colonies being separated by a wall. It has provided a permanent solution by removing the wall and adding a connecting road between the two colonies in Kismatpur within the limits of Bandlaguda Jagir Municipality.

The enforcement teams of HYDRAA carried out a demolition drive in the morning and by the evening a cement road was developed by the municipal authorities in the locality after noticing their hardships.

The demolition of this road between Fortune West Meadows and Sri Harshit Layout in Bandlaguda Jagir, Gandipet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District has made way for the surrounding colonies.

Wall was built to protect layouts

The HYDRAA officials said that Fortune West Meadows has been established in Kismatpur village with 173 plots spread over 18.65 acres. Adjacent to this colony, Sri Harshit Layout has come up with 160 plots spread over about 12 acres.

There is a 30-foot-wide road connecting these two layouts. In the past, a wall was built across the road under the pretext of protecting the layouts from house construction.

The road was cleared of obstructions after the municipal authorities demolished it six months ago. But again, a controversy arose when the people of Sri Harshit Layout built a wall across the road.

Residents of Fortune West Meadows Colony have complained to HYDRAA that they have been suffering for three years due to the demolition and reconstruction carried out by municipal authorities.

HYDRAA removed the wall on Monday morning in the presence of municipal officials after a thorough investigation. The locals expressed their happiness that they had been facing severe hardships for three years due to the wall and had to travel more than 2 km every day, but now their troubles have come to an end.
