Hyderabad: Amid tight police security, Hyderabad Disaster Response And Asset Monitoring Agency (HYDRAA ) demolished unauthorized structures at Lake View villas in Nekanmpur and Manikonda in Rangareddy district on Friday.
The agency demolished lake view villas under construction. A total of 13 villas are built as one plus two with an area of āā400 sq yards each. As there are court orders for two villas, the HYDRAA is initiating steps to demolish them by informing the court.
Besides, the locals also filed a complaint with HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath against unauthorized structures. Responding quickly, he directed officials to raze the on going constructing structures ignoring municipal and irrigation department notices.
The HYDRAA Commissioner has expressed his ire that the construction continues despite the cancellation of the permits for the full tank level of the Peddha Cheruvu and the villas built in the buffer zones.

On Thursday, the HYDRAA Commissioner examined the encroachments near Neknampur Lake in Manikonda. He found Pooja Crafted Homes had constructed sheds and disposed of dirt and waste. He ordered the debris and sheds to be taken down.
Officials from irrigation and municipal department informed Ranganath that some of the villas have been demolished in the past as they are under FTL.
The Commissioner cautioned that stern action would be taken against those encroaching upon the lake. He asked HYDRAA staff to collaborate with revenue, irrigation, GHMC, and HMDA personnel and extensively investigate the encroachments, and blocking of nalas to prevent flood water from entering the respective lakes.
The officials were also directed to undertake a thorough evaluation utilizing maps from the National Remote Sensing Agency and the Survey of India.
