HYDRAA inspects encroached lands in Cantonment area

Hyderabad: Following a series of complaints received from the public during the Prajavani programme, HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath on Thursday inspected various government lands encroached in various parts of the city.

Ranganath began by inspecting the encroachment on government land in Lothkunta, Tirumalagiri Village and Alwal Mandal. According to the General Land Records, the land in the Cantonment area is registered to the State government, but private individuals have claimed it as their own.

The HYDRAA commissioner instructed the officials not to grant permission for any construction on this land, which is over a hundred acres in size. He further inspected the surroundings of the Lingam Lake canal located below the Bubba Khan Lake in Dundigal Village, Gandimaisamma Mandal.

During his visit, locals complained to the commissioner that the floodwaters from the Bubba Khan Lake had been diverted from the Alugu and Tumula canals, and construction has been carried out, resulting in flooding.

Ranganath advised residents and real estate companies to come to a decision together in the wake of the courtā€™s order to resolve this issue. Later, the commissioner also examined the government land encroached near Hafeezpet. The officials were instructed to examine whether government land was occupied by those benefiting from TDR.
