HYDRAA inspects nala from Shaikpet Kotha Cheruvu to Shatam Cheruvu, targets encroachments
Hyderabad: Cracking down on nala encroachments, HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath on Thursday inspected the stormwater canal network from Shaikpet Kotha Cheruvu to Shatam Cheruvu via Aditya Nagar.
He directed the officials to clear obstructions and ensure that drains are of proper width to handle heavy rainwater discharge.
OU Colony flood risk mitigated
The inspection comes in the wake of recent flooding in OU Colony, Shaikpet Division, where heavy rains had inundated several localities.
To avert future threats, canal connection works were taken up, linking Aditya Nagar, Rahul Nagar, Brindavan and Surya Nagar colonies with the drainage line near the Ambience Court gated community in Manikonda Municipality.
The Commissioner personally reviewed the pipeline works in progress.
Recognising his efforts, Shaikpet Corporator Rashed Farajuddin felicitated the Commissioner with a shawl, while residents offered bouquets and thanked him. Locals credited his initiative for safeguarding them against recurring flood threats.
