Hyderabad: HYDRAA is demolishing structures in FTL area in Pariki Lake
Hyderabad: HYDRAAās enforcement teams demolished unauthorised structures in Parki Lake, Quthbullapur Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Thursday. As part of the demolition drive, the teams razed down two under-construction structures and two more structures in the foundation stage in the FTL area of Pariki Lake.
The Pariki Lake Conservation Committee complained to HYDRAA commissioner AV Ranganath that the lake, spread across more than 60 acres, has been encroached upon. HYDRAA has taken up a full-scale investigation into all encroachments taking place in Pariki Lake. After checking with the revenue, irrigation and municipality departments, HYDRAA took up the demolitions on Thursday after identifying them in the FTL area of Pariki Lake under construction.
Unauthorised person selling Pariki Lake land as plots
The representatives of the committee complained that a person identified as Balakrishna, a supposed local leader, was selling the government land as well as the land in the perimeter of FTL in the pond as plots to the notary.
Buyers and sellers are complaining that Balakrishna and his followers are involved in irregularities through notary by collecting the Aadhaar cards of both parties. Locals claimed in the complaint that Balakrishna encroached more than 1,000 yards in the name of establishing a school ground which is also illegal.
Land scam at Pariki Lake through notary
So far, HYDRAA has found that the encroachments have extended towards Bhudevi and Shirdi hills adjacent to the Pariki Lake. HYDRAA said that it is demolishing only those that are in the under-construction stage without going near the houses that are already inhabited.
The victims expressed their concern after the demolition. They said that he had paid money to a local leader and purchased it through a notary to make a living by performing menial tasks at a low cost.
The victims claimed that they were unaware that the 50 yards they purchased for Rs 15 lakh was under FTL and that it was available for less. HYDRA is also investigating a report made by Pariki Lake Protection Committee representatives that a man called Anil Rao is selling government land as plots through Balakrishna.
